0500: Entering the EZ and beginning my search for anomalous plant species. None were found, moving northeast to the next sector.
0600: No new species found in this sector. Heading southeast.
0700: No new species found in this sector. Heading northeast.
0800: No new species found in this sector. Note a slight itching sensation across the skin. Heading east.
0900: Anomalous plant located (see Image 1). The leaves moved in response to my movements as if mimicking me. No change in symptoms. Continuing to move east.
1000: No new species found in this sector. No change in symptoms. Moving northeast.
1100: Anomalous plant located (see Image 2). Documentation seemed to take the normal amount of time, but upon checking my watch, I saw that two hours had passed. Note small lumps forming on the exposed skin of my arms. Moving west to begin the return to the extraction point.
1300: No new species found in this sector. No change in symptoms. Moving west.
1400: No new species found in this sector. The lumps have breached the skin, and small sprouts are emerging. Picking up the pace and moving southwest.
1500: No new species found in this sector. The sprouts are rapidly growing and entangling my arms! Calling for extraction in two hours as I head southwest.
1600: No new species found in this sector. The vines are trying to take root in the soil, and I'm having to struggle to make each step. The extraction zone is an hour to the west.
1700: ...
Postscript: The extraction team arrived to find the botanist had been claimed by the EZ. Fortunately, their notebook was recovered.
